Ha! Tricked you! I titled this entry ‘Discovering Self’, figuring you would read it, sure enough you did, or maybe you didn’t, I don’t know, I don’t fucking care. Attended the Cornish College BFA exhibition-the very exhibition I was to be a part of but am not, due to dropping out mid-junior year of school, not of my own accord but more so, being told to ‘fuck off’ by both the companies that gave me student loans and the financial aid office of the school…but I only have one year left to complete, and fuck it, I really want to graduate in 2013. For a degree, for a key disguised as a printed piece of paper with my name on it, telling me “You earned your Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, way to go bro.” So…I am trying desperately to find any solution to pay for school (selling organs on the black market perhaps…?) I attended this exhibition and had this picture, the only picture of myself at that event, taken by a photographer named Patrick. I am standing next to the incredibly lovely and talented, Justin Geddes, who was, I’ll have you know, the first person I met at art school…this boy is going places, I can tell. Anyways, wish me the best of luck in my journey to prove that what I do, as a cartoonist, illustrator, artist, and person is not a joke…

That’s right, kiddies, the slogan for this year is “Gang Rape 2012.” And by that I mean, 2012 is gonna be my bitch. Meaning I’m gonna kick ass and take names. No more being passive-aggressive and bitching and moaning, I mean, there will be bitching and moaning, lots actually, but I’m gonna really kick my ass into gear and start to take control of my existence as both a person and as a creative being. I can’t just lolly-gag anymore…this year its all about being proactive and progressive. I mean, fuck, I’m 25…
Anyways, I started off this year with my darling love, Egan Hirvela, attending Mercury, as always, going to R Place for a friend’s birthday party, then the next day going to my friends’ Carl Faulkner and Redd Walitzki’s New Year’s Eve get together. Both are darling, daring, incredible individuals who I really admire and appreciate and am so glad, after months of not seeing or speaking, due to the greatest obstacle and distraction, life, I got to ring in the new year with them. They both cause me to want to create, work, and grow.
A new adventure, which really inspired me was after years of living here in Seattle, going to Pretty Parlor, which I can’t quite describe in words- I knew from the moment I walked in I wanted to live in their boutique. Here are a few small shots which I think only describe a tiny percentage of its awesome.

Last but not least…MY LITTLE PONY!!!
Almost a whole November without any entries. I tell ya, I’m a lousy Tumblr user. Here are a few pictures from October/November.

Taken at the Hardcore German Sparkle Party in middle November, the first I have ever attended. I like to refer to this ensemble as the Space Oddity. It was just okay. I didn’t drink at all, only Coca Cola. The Mercury was crowded far more than a tiny Seattle gothic joint should. I think what I appreciated the most about this evening was everyone’s creativity and imagination when it came to what they wore. I guess its the perfect event to let your inner club kid rage. The event may have been ‘meh’ but at least I now own a silver bikini set, silver hot pants, and a neon pink dress out of the deal.
I attended another event, a Clueless themed birthday party at Fringe at the Eagle Tavern. Pictures soon to come.

Cute as fuck cosmetic bag I discovered at the 99 cent store for only 1.49. What you know about it?

I titled this picture ‘blah’ because its how I feel whenever I paint. No, I kid, I kid. Here is a picture from October, when I was finalizing this piece for the Black Monday Halloween at Sunset Tavern. This was framed and given away as the grand prize for the costume contest. I am quite proud of it. My only regret is not taking better pictures of it once it was dry. Sigh.
This October weekend I attended my first Zombcon. I ADORE horror and gore flicks-not so keen on zombies though. I mean I enjoy zombies as much as anyone else does but not like a zombie groupie. However, Zombcon is exactly that. A zombie convention with a dash of horror genre. In my experience, Seattle has fairly small cons and this was no different but it was fun regardless. Attended a few fun panels where I got to listen to local celebs and horror icons and met a few very awesome horror icons myself…didn’t take many pictures but here are the ones I do have…
I didn’t attend Zombie Prom or any after parties, I guess if I were anyone else I would have but I didn’t want to wait the hours it would take for it to start and considering the convention was in Seatac I didn’t know how long I wanted to stay there…PLUS, I believe in creating my own paths… =P
Sid Haig was the first person I spoke to and then on to Bill Moseley (I was deathly nervous about both, I’m a fan girl geek at heart and can’t help it). Both are very chill, cool people… I had Bill Moseley sign a picture for my friend Crystal, and to be honest handing her the autographed picture made my entire weekend.

Last Tuesday I was honored with the fancy task of being made up and photographed by my friend Megan Bishop, in her quite stunning, elegant, and fun hats and hair accessories. Her line of hats, otherwise known as Apatico, can be bought from her Etsy store and on the Apatico website, http://www.apatico.net/index.html.
Hair, make-up, hats, boa, and photography by Megan Bishop.
Here are a few pictures from the shoot. I like them all so very much!

Shoes my mother gave me. They make me feel like Peter Pan. I now understand the appeal of the “indie” shoe.

I am weirdly fixated on this moment in time…this composition makes me happy.

I always pose with unlit cigarettes. This is a pre-hair cut snapshot.

Posing in my filth mirror before running errands. It has been cleaned since this…Hedgehog habitat in background.

Speaking of hedgehog.

Somebody’s a sleepy hedgehog.

Hedgehog…

Took this picture of my hair while bleaching. I actually shopped this picture alot, can you tell?

Today started off with the very unnecessary organization of my nail polishes. What!? You don’t keep your nail polish in your fridge!? I had a friend ages ago say that keeping nail polish cold prevents bubbling-and spoilage. I believe this to be true but have no evidence or proof of it.

Picked up and vacuumed then decided to adorn our sofa with this lovely Little Miss Piggy Kavan and I discovered, not once, but twice, then decided to take home.

Got a iced latte with Disco straws with Peter Thadeus today at Bauhaus. It was delightful.

What!? YOU’RE IN SEATTLE, BIOTCH! Your Fixie got jacked!
Saturday, July 2nd, my love of almost six years and I decided to part ways. Not literally however, as we are still acting as “roomies” or roommates-and “besties” as in, we still remain very good friends. Oddly neither of us are hurt, or angry, or upset. Our conversation was brief and then we ultimately decided we are meant to be separate persons and have separate lives.
Its a little silly because Saturday July 2nd was actually a really fantastic day. I am not disappointed by it. I was at work at my 2nd position, Brookstone, and they actually let me leave early. So I made a day of it and decided to document a few things…I ran into and chatted with a bunch of friends but did not photograph them, simply because I didn’t know how to do it and still make it spontaneous and not “manufactured”.

Walking out of Pacific Place I noticed this snazzy advertisement for Something Silver. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud and take a snapshot. For those of you who do not know, this octopus pendant is EVERYWHERE on Etsy…don’t believe me, check out the Regretsy thread about it.
POKEMON! Was at McDonald’s. Getting terrible, greasy cheap eats and realized these were the ‘boy’ toy of the week, month, whenever they change it out. Fuck I remember when Pokemon were the shit. What the fuck happened???

Spontaneous snapshot of a Seattle street. I dunno. I just like it. Its simple, its dull, but I think its interesting.
My first ever using the restroom at the Bauhaus cafe. Turns out-covered in writing-like most Seattle public restrooms.

Decided to take full advantage of Value Village’s 50% Off sale. Discovered three things I could not go without, a very fancy shirt, a very basic black spaghetti strap shirt, and a very very cute skirt…

My girl is growing up so fast. I was working on filling her eye color and her lips, obviously will need to add more white forms to her lips and fill in her once beautiful, lengthy, full eyelashes. And of course, nipples…in time, in time…plus the background needs to be touched up. I don’t know why this one is taking me so long, its so small, I guess I should be thankful I am actually painting.

Started working on a new comic…colored with Blick markers. I like how its turning out so far…perhaps it will go somewhere after all.
Being that I live in Seattle, I love free piles. You know what I’m talking about, right? You live in an apartment complex and there is a designated area of the hallway or entrance that is declared the ‘Free Pile’ where everybody drops off things they no longer want and whoever wants them can have them. Last night, returning home from Pony, I collected a few awesome, fun things!
For one, not one, not two, but three frames! They don’t have glass-but no worries. I’ll use them for paintings anyway. Also, a TOTALLY unused long canvas board… There were also six packs of these strange, campy Chinese Take Out and Fast Food charms which I am going to give my friend, Seage Harris, who is the designer behind Chainsaw Mouth. She makes uber fun and funky things.

Click the link for song of the day. Psychedelic Furs…how do they always seem to know what I’m feeling? <3
